Meghalaya petrol, diesel price hike

The Meghalaya government has hiked the prices of petrol and diesel, state Revenue Minister James PK Sangma said.

Tax on petrol was Rs 11 per liter or 13.5 percent, whichever is higher. It has been revised to Rs 12.50 per liter or 13.5 percent, whichever is higher.

Sangma said, “You may know that the state of Assam has hiked the prices of petrol and diesel. To adjust to this, the state government also revised its petrol and diesel rates to take advantage of the price differential here,” after the cabinet approved the changes on Wednesday.
