Assam Cabinet holds a meeting for various sectors like solar plants in beels, seat reservation in medical education, city gas distribution pipeline, according to some sources.
A meeting happened on Friday. It has been decided to amend the Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam Third Schedule (Regulation of Admission to 1st-Year MBBS/BDS Course) Rules, 2017 and (Amendment) Rules, 2021 to ensure inclusiveness in medical education. Academic Session 2022-23.
Representation of MBBS seats for 6 communities among OBCs will be increased by two seats and three seats will be reserved under the ex-servicemen quota for studying Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
Also, the cabinet decided to relax the age limit in medical colleges.
