Medanta’s ‘Banno Ki Rasm’ sparks awareness and market momentum for women’s health

Medanta – The Medicity, recognized six times by Newsweek as India’s Best Private Hospital, has struck a chord nationwide with its breast cancer awareness film, Banno Ki Rasm, which has already surpassed 8 million views on social media. The 2-minute 28-second video, part of the hospital’s “Jaanta Hai Medanta” initiative, reimagines self-breast exams as a ritual of strength, self-love, and care, encouraging women to adopt the practice monthly.

Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman & Managing Director, said, “Women balance multiple responsibilities in society, and through this film, Medanta aims to empower them while breaking the stigma around breast cancer.” Dr. Kanchan Kaur, Senior Director of Breast Cancer, added that early detection through self-exams and screenings can dramatically improve outcomes and save lives. With breast cancer accounting for one in four cancers among women globally, campaigns like this are vital for awareness and timely intervention.

The campaign has created notable market activity. Local pharmacies, diagnostic centers, and wellness clinics report rising demand for preventive screenings and check-up packages. Residents have increasingly engaged in discussions on breast health, translating awareness into measurable consumer behavior, indicating a growing market for health services and preventive care in the region.
