Global Health Limited (Medanta), one of India’s largest private multi-specialty tertiary care providers, has announced the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for its upcoming 400-bed super-specialty hospital at Sarusajai Industrial Estate, Guwahati, on October 31, 2025. The event will be attended by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director, Medanta, Mr. Pankaj Sahni, Group CEO, along with key government officials and community representatives.
The Guwahati facility will feature comprehensive tertiary and quaternary care, including robotic surgeries, transplant programs, and advanced diagnostic services such as radiology, nuclear medicine, and preventive health check-ups. According to Dr. Trehan, Medanta’s entry into the Northeast aims to “bridge the healthcare gap and make advanced, high-quality medical care more accessible to the people of Assam and neighbouring states.”
The project is seen as a catalyst for regional healthcare development, offering advanced treatment options previously unavailable locally. Patients from Nagaland often travel to Guwahati for specialised care, and Medanta’s arrival is expected to reduce outbound patient traffic, improve medical connectivity, and strengthen the healthcare supply chain across the region. With this expansion, Medanta continues its strategic growth trajectory, reinforcing its mission to deliver accessible, compassionate, and world-class healthcare across India.
