A meeting of chief health officers of all districts was held at the health building on Wednesday. In that meeting, orders were given to start fever clinics in all hospitals.
In the meeting that day, concern was expressed about the situation in Howrah. Howrah has the highest number of dengue cases but the number of hospital patients is relatively less. Apart from this, the number of dengue cases is also increasing in North 24 Parganas district. According to the district health department, the number of dengue cases is more than 700 so far. Basirhat, Murshidabad Nadia are also increasing the number of infected. Apart from opening fever clinics in government hospitals, 24-hour dengue testing has been ordered.
A minor died of dengue in a Kolkata hospital. The 11-year-old boy was admitted to NRS hospital three days ago with dengue symptoms and his death was reported on Wednesday. Before this, there were reports of three deaths due to dengue in Kolkata hospitals. Seven people have died of dengue in the state so far this season.
