On August 19, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the state’s commitment to law and order and called for a violence-free environment during a Rakhi celebration event. Addressing attendees, Saha underscored the critical importance of ensuring women’s safety, highlighting that women, who make up half the population, play a vital role in society beyond traditional household responsibilities. “Their security is essential as they continue to contribute significantly to our community,” he said.
The Chief Minister acknowledged that while isolated incidents of violence do occur, the state government is vigilant and responds promptly to such issues. He called for a “Hinsa Mukt Tripura” (violence-free Tripura), aiming to foster an environment where residents can live and work without fear.
Saha also noted the progress made in reducing crime rates across the state, linking the safety and well-being of women to the overall health of society. He reiterated the state’s ongoing efforts towards achieving a “Nasha Mukt Tripura” (drug-free Tripura), aligning with the broader goal of a violence-free state.
