Wriddhiman Sahar’s return to Bengal cricket was not a happy one. His team, the Rashmi Medinipur Wizards, had to leave after losing in the semifinals of the Bengal Pro T20 League. Ridhis lost to the Murshidabad Kings. Sobisco Smashers Malda defeated Lux Shaham Kolkata Tigers in the other semi-final. That is, Malda and Murshidabad face each other in the men’s final. The final will be played at Eden Gardens on Friday.
In the first semi-final, Kolkata came under pressure. Malda captain Mukesh Kumar kept taking wickets one after another with the new ball. He was accompanied by Ritwik Chatterjee. Kolkata scored 105 runs after losing nine wickets in 20 overs. Mukesh took five wickets for 23 runs. Ritvik took two wickets for 26 runs. In reply, Malda chased the run after losing four wickets in 16.3 overs. Ritvik is also successful with the bat after the ball. He scored 50 runs on 41 balls. Malda won the match easily.
Batting first in the second semi-final, Medinipur lost six wickets and scored 144 runs in 20 overs. Priyanshu Srivastava scored 44 and Riddhi scored 32 runs. Sukhmeet Singh took two wickets for Murshidabad. Murshidabad won with seven balls remaining in the run chase. Kaushik Ghosh caught attention with the bat. He scored 45 runs. Agniv Pan scored 20 runs. Baibhav Yadav took three wickets for Medinipur but could not win the match.
