In a strategic move aimed at fostering innovation and gender inclusivity in the agricultural sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has entered into a collaborative partnership with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to initiate two pilots under the esteemed Drone Didi Yojana. This groundbreaking initiative, unveiled earlier this year, aims to equip 15,000 women with the necessary skills to operate drones for a myriad of agricultural tasks, from fertiliser distribution to crop surveillance.
Under the aegis of this partnership, MSDE and Mahindra & Mahindra will conduct exclusive training sessions for 500 women at National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) situated in Hyderabad and Noida. The meticulously designed 15-day curriculum, approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, will be delivered by seasoned Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) instructors, harnessing Mahindra’s domain expertise in agriculture for comprehensive training.
Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of MSDE, lauded the partnership for its potential to empower women and drive agricultural modernisation. Dr. Anish Shah, Group CEO & MD of Mahindra Group, echoed this sentiment, underscoring the company’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and technological advancement in agriculture.
