Trinamool MP Mahua Maitra on Sunday (July 31, 2022) took a dig at Union Minister Smriti Irani in a tweet and also appealed to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to hand over the microphone to the opposition on Monday so they can question Prime Minister Narendra. Maitra’s “Drama Bahu Brigade” comment on Twitter was a dig at Union Minister Smriti Irani and her landmark TV show ‘Kyunki Saas Vi Kavi Bahu Thi’.
The Trinamool MP’s comments came after an uproar in the Lok Sabha on Thursday once Smriti Irani raised the issue of Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s ‘first lady’ remark in Parliament and apologized to President Sonia Gandhi during Congress’s intervention.
Once the reduction of residences was postponed, the BJP accused Sonia Gandhi of being aggressive towards Smriti Irani. Many of Congress leaders alleged that it was Smriti Irani who ‘abused’ Sonia Gandhi when Sonia Gandhi approached BJP MP Rama Devi.
