Lunglei Administration Sets Up Control Room to Monitor Fuel and LPG Supply Amid Disruption Concerns

The district administration in Lunglei has set up a Joint Control Room to closely monitor the availability and distribution of essential fuel supplies, including Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), amid concerns over possible disruptions in supply.Deputy Commissioner Navneet Mann issued an official notification designating the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) as the Joint Control Room for this purpose. The move follows directions from the Mizoram government to ensure that essential commodities remain available without interruption.Officials said the decision comes at a time when there are concerns about possible disturbances in international energy supply chains. The administration aims to stay prepared and prevent any shortage situation in the district.

The Control Room has started functioning with immediate effect. It will keep a close watch on stock levels, supply movement, and distribution across Lunglei district. It will also respond to any issues related to fuel and LPG supply and take timely action wherever needed.The administration has made it clear that strict steps will be taken against hoarding and black marketing. Officials will also work to prevent the spread of false information, which can lead to panic buying among the public.People have been asked not to believe rumours and to rely only on official updates. A committee has been formed to oversee the functioning of the Control Room. It includes the Deputy Commissioner, the Superintendent of Police, the District Civil Supplies Officer, the District Information and Public Relations Officer, and representatives from the DEOC and District Disaster Management Authority.
