London Mayor Sadiq Khan has fired a grave warning to London commuters after five bus drivers died of the coronavirus. Mr Khan said he is “absolutely devastated” the transport workers, who are yet to be named, died after testing positive for Covid-19.
It comes as 621 patients with Covid-19 died in UK in just 24 hours, bring the UK’s official total to around 5,000 as of Sunday afternoon. In a heartfelt tweet, he said “lives depended” on people following Government rules to stay at home unless travel was essential.
