Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited (KMBL) has become the first bank to launch a seamless GST payment system, offering multiple payment options including UPI, Credit Card, and Debit Card, in addition to its existing Net Banking service.
This move aligns with the government’s vision to promote digital payments and simplify financial transactions. Kotak is India’s first bank to enable taxpayers to meet their GST obligations by choosing their preferred digital payment mode in the GST portal’s ‘E-payment’.
The bank has been a supporter of India’s Digital Public Infrastructure and integrated with the Centre’s GST portal last year, providing a user-friendly platform for tax fulfillment through its Net Banking service. Raghavendra Singh, President of Public Affairs & Government Business at Kotak, commended the government’s efforts in leading a digital payment revolution and praised Kotak for its frictionless customer experience for not only Kotak customers but all taxpayers.
