The star-studded family drama has already grossed Rs 50 crore and is already in the race to enter the 100 crore club. On its second Friday, the film grossed ₹ 3.03 crore and reached a total of ₹ 56.69 crore. Well, now, contemporary reports state that Jug Jug Jio recorded first-rate boom on Saturday and is all set for a blockbuster Sunday. It curiously collected 4.75 crores nett and took the film to 58 crores nett. This is almost 70 percent higher than the second Friday collection BoxOfficeIndia reported, “Jugjugg Jeeyo noted phenomenal boom on Saturday as it collected around 4.75 crore nett which is almost 70% more than 2d Friday which will take the movie to 58 crore nett and set it up for a solid Sunday which again shows decent growth does.”
The document further reads, “Saturday’s growth came in all but Gujarat which did not show such growth. But as a blockbuster Gujarati film it would want to be market material and Saturday failed to show an upturn that was once assured. In the north the film was very accurate in both Delhi NCR and East Punjab while Bengaluru and Kolkata also jumped strongly.
Mumbai Metropolis is also holding out regardless of adverse weather conditions so generally Mumbai and the larger population areas in the North are doing well.” Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, sharing the collections earlier today wrote, “#JugJuggJeeyo is the first wish of moviegoers, two [new] prominent films are showing. And despite taking away a chunk of the shows… Trends should see the biz improve on [2nd] Sat & Sun… [Week 2] Fri 3.03 cr. Total: ₹ 56.69 crore. #IndiaBiz.”
For the uninitiated, ‘Jugjag Jio’ follows Kuku (Dhawan) and Naina (Kiara Advani), who are on the verge of divorce, who pretend to be happily married until her younger sister Ginni’s (Prajakta Koli) wedding is over. Kuku barely recognizes her father Bheem, played by Anil Kapoor, is dishonest to her mother Geeta, written by Neetu Kapoor, and plans to divorce her.
