ITC Limited, in collaboration with the Department of Post and Ministry of Communication, released a special postal stamp in New Delhi to commemorate the International Year of Millets. The stamp celebrates the Shree Anna and nationwide efforts to raise awareness on millets. The exclusive stamp was released by Shri Kailash Choudhary, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare of India, in the presence of Sushri Manju Kumar, Chief Post Master General, Department of Post, Ministry of Communication and Shri S. Sivakumar, Group Head – Agri BusinessITC Limitedin New Delhi. ITC focuses on improving India’s diet and raising awareness on millets.
Stamps immortalize cultural values and people, and the ITC Mission Millets Stamp celebrates Shree Anna, marking a milestone in India’s journey to educate, empower, and encourage millet farming and consumption. The ITC Mission Millets postal stamp highlights the importance of farmers and sustainable farming in connecting millet-based recipes and dishes.
The unique sketch illustration showcases the collaboration between ITC’s Agri Business Division, Foods Business Division, and ITC Hotels to develop millet-based products and promote healthy millets. The stamp showcases millets’ journey from farms to ITC’s food production factories, incorporating them into nutritious dishes.
