iPhone maker Foxconn plans to invest $1.6 billion in India

iPhone maker Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. It plans to expand its footprint in India by investing another NT$50 billion ($1.6 billion) in construction projects.
The announcement, made in an exchange filing in Taiwan late on Monday, gave no further details, saying only that the investment was “for operational needs”. A company spokesman declined to say where the new facility would be or what they would build.

Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn, and other Taiwanese electronics makers continue to diversify their businesses outside of China as tensions rise between Washington and Beijing.
