India’s first listing on NSE Social Stock Exchange has been inaugurated in the presence of Shri. Ashishkumar Chauhan (MD & CEO, National Stock Exchange) along with Dr. R Balasubramaniam (Chairman, Advisory Committee, Social Stock Exchange, SEBI), Shri Ramesh Swami (Founder Director, Unnati), Shri. Ashwani Bhatia (Whole Time Member, SEBI) and other dignitaries during their visit to NSE today.
Exchange listings enable checks and balances, disclosing fund raising purposes and timelines, and requiring annual impact reports audited by social audit firms for transparency. Experts suggest 38 more NPOs are registered with the NSE SSE, with more listings expected in the coming months.
Ashish Chauhan, managing director and CEO at NSE, emphasized the unique impact investing approach of Social Security Enterprises (SSEs), which bridges donors and NPOs for social change. This approach offers benefits like transparency, trust, efficiency, and cost savings, allowing philanthropists, investors, and NPOs to collaborate towards a sustainable and equitable future.
