India’s exports of military gear hit a record high of Rs 15,920 crore

In the fiscal year 2022–2023, India’s exports of military gear hit a record high of Rs 15,920 crore, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi characterised as a “clear indication of excitement towards the Make in India project.”
Comparing the amount of Rs 1,521 crore recorded in exporting military gear in 2016–17 to the value of total defence exports in 2022–23, a ten-fold rise is observed.
