Since the outbreak of COVID-19, finally India-Bhutan border will reopen for tourist from September 23 in meeting held in the Himalayan kingdom’s Director (law and order) of the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs. Also the meeting was held with the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
The border of India-Bhutan is located at Samdrup Jhongkhar and Gelephu along the Assam frontier
In the meeting the official urged the Indians to come and visit again as it is going to reopen again.
Due to the pandemic many sides have changed, and thus it was not possible to meet and establish the friendship again. It had to take a long gap to settle things again. But finally the COVID-19 scenario have improved, now the gates are open to all again. Also with new guide lines added which the tourists has to follow before the entry.
Earlier the entry permits were through Phuentsholing and Paro but now there are three additional entry gates. Tourists must bring their Voter ID and other relevant documents.
Along with the new guidelines other facilities are also to be provided to the visitors there.
