Rohit Sharma is in good form for the T20 World Cup. He played an innings of 57 runs off 39 balls against England in the semi-final. He decorated his innings with six fours and two sixes. The captain of the Indian team set a double precedent in this inning on Thursday.
Rohit hit a milestone in the T20 World Cup by hitting two sixes against England. His number of sixes in 20 over the World Cup is 50. He made this feat as the second batsman in the world after former West Indies batsman Chris Gayle. Gayle has 63 sixes in T20 World Cups.
Rohit made another feat on this day. He became the first Indian captain to score a fifty in a World T20 knockout match. Earlier, no Indian captain could play an innings of 50 or more runs in a 20-over World Cup knockout match.
Rohit completed his fifty by sweeping the ball from England all-rounder Sam Curren in Guyana’s 22 yards and hitting a six at the fine leg. He has accomplished two feats in these six.
