Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri inaugurated the ONGC-supported Siu-Ka-Pha hospital in Sivasagar, a Multi Speciality Hospital with a total investment of Rs 483.19 crore. The facility, expected to serve over one lakh patients annually. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Prasthan (BAVP) will be managing and operating the hospital.
The event was attended by ONGC Chairman and CEO, ONGC, Arun Kumar Singh, along with senior officials from the Government of Assam and ONGC, including Dr. Satish Kulkarni, Chairman BAVP Trust, Dr. AnantPandhare, Chairman Siu-Ka-Pha Hospital, and Dr. Gautam Das, CEO, Siu-Ka-Pha. Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs said, “Prioritising healthcare, ONGC’s Siu-Ka-Pha Hospital, with its state of the art medical infrastructure, will bring in substantive enhancement in healthcare capacity of not only Upper Assam but in entire North east India.”
The ONGC Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Specialty Hospital, covering 35 acres, offers 300 beds and 70 specialized doctors, providing a range of medical services including orthopedics, trauma, obstetrics, gynaecology, ENT, skull base surgery, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and advanced diagnostics. It has modular operating theaters, a critical care unit, and telemedicine. The hospital is a significant addition to Assam’s healthcare landscape, eliminating the need for residents to travel to Dibrugarh.
