IBM and the Commissionerate of Technical Education (CTE Gujarat) of the Government of Gujarat, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster technical and professional education in Gujarat. Under this collaboration, the focus will be on leveraging IBM SkillsBuild, to empower learners in Gujarat with essential skills in emerging technologies like AI (including generative AI), cybersecurity, hybrid cloud and workplace skills for professional development.
IBM has opened its new CIC in Gandhinagar, showcasing advanced technology in areas such as generative artificial intelligence (AI), hybrid cloud, and cybersecurity. The company also launched IBM SkillsBuild, a pro-bono education program for underrepresented tech communities.
The program helps develop essential skills in emerging technologies and provides career opportunities. It includes an online platform and practical experiences through strategic partnerships with a global network of partners. Speaking about the collaboration with IBM, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said, “Under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, the synergy between education and skilling is set to position India as a Vishwa Guru, evolving into a hub of knowledge and a leading skilling destination.”
