IBM renews collaboration with IIT-B and IISc, Bangalore to strengthen innovation in hybrid cloud & AI innovation

IBM has renewed its research collaboration with IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore to drive breakthrough innovations in hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence. IIT Bombay joined IBM’s AI Horizon Network in 2018 to advance AI research in India. In 2021, IBM and IISc Bangalore launched the IBM-IISc Hybrid Cloud lab to further research hybrid cloud technologies.

IBM is collaborating with students, faculty, and industry researchers to drive innovation and provide practical solutions to global challenges. The project aims to enhance technology and contribute to a more advanced and efficient future by pushing knowledge boundaries and exploring new approaches. Speaking on the collaborations Dr.Amith Singhee, Director IBM Research India said, “Together, we strive to explore new horizons and address pressing challenges, empowering India’s research community to create tangible impact and shape a brighter future for all.”

The collaborations will focus on expanding research in natural language processing, machine learning for time series, creating sophisticated computer programs to detect fake news and half-truths, developing new technologies for hybrid cloud environments, and developing sustainable computing techniques.
