India has set a Guinness World Record after consultants for the National Highways Association of India (NHAI) constructed the longest non-stop stretch of bituminous concrete road – a seventy five km stretch between Maharashtra’s Amravati and Aloka on National Highway fifty three Work on the road commenced at 7.27am on June 3 and was once performed at 5 pm on June 7, Gadkari stated in a post on Twitter. “The work was once carried out in a report time of a hundred and five hours and 33 minutes,” the roadways minister said.
“Proud moment for the entire nation! Feel very comfortable to congratulate our notable crew (at) NHAI, consultants and concessionaire Rajpath Infracon Pvt Ltd and Jagdish Kadam, on accomplishing the Guinness World Record (feat) of laying seventy five km continuous bituminous concrete Road… in a single lane on a NH-53 part between Amravati and Akola,” Gadkari tweeted.
“I would mainly thank our engineers and workers who toiled day and night time to attain this high-quality feat”. Talking about the significance of the newly constructed road, he stated “Amravati to Akola part is part of the national motorway 53, which is an important east-west corridor. It connects essential cities like Kolkata, Raipur, Nagpur, Akola, Dhule, and Surat. It passes via a mineral-rich vicinity of our country. I have been informed that almost 35 per cent of work is performed on this stretch, from Amravati to Akola, and nearly sixty five per cent in Akola to Chikli section. Therefore, with this achievement, there will be a terrific comfort to commuters, the movement of site visitors will be smooth, and the journey time will be reduced.”
The in the past Guinness World Record for the longest constantly built stretch of bituminous concrete avenue was for 27.25 km. That was finished in Qatar’s Ashghal on February 27, 2019. The road used to be part of the Al Khor Expressway and it took 10 days to be completed.
