Chief Minister Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh expressed gratitude to the 76 families of Karko village for signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to support the preparation of the Pre-Feasibility Report (PFR) for the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP). He highlighted the project’s role in energy security, flood management, and regional development, emphasizing that it advances through dialogue and community involvement, factoring in environmental and social issues. The agreement was a key step forward for the project, stressing informed consent and community participation. The signing took place at the DC Bungalow in Yingkiong, attended by various officials and community members.
