Re-emphasizing the need to build a culture of safe riding habits in India, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) took forward its National Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Umden, Meghalaya. Honda prioritizes road safety globally, promoting safe riding practices at St. Joseph H.S. School in Umden. Instructors used age-appropriate learning programs to enhance awareness among 1800 students and staff.
HMSI’s National Road Safety Awareness program provides a scientifically designed learning module with skilled instructors teaching road signs, driver duties, riding gear, posture, and safe riding etiquette. A virtual riding simulator simulates over 100 possible dangers, while KikenYosoku Training (KYT) enhances rider sensitivity to danger.
Existing riders practice their skills through slow riding activities and narrow planks. Honda also conducts educational activities like road safety games and quizzes daily to educate young students about road safety. Speaking on HMSI’s commitment towards building a collision-free India, Mr. Vinay Dhingra – Senior Director, HR, Admin, IT & Corporate Affairs, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “With this campaign, we aim to cultivate the right road safety habits amongst the new and upcoming riders as well as help them in understanding the importance of using the roads safely.”
