Himanta Visits Tripura CM in Agartala, Asserts NDA’s Continued Rule in Assam

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, met with Manik Saha, the chief minister of Tripura, in Agartala on Thursday for a discussion.”We held meaningful discussions on a range of issues of mutual interest, reinforcing the spirit of cooperation and shared progress between our states,” Sarma said.After receiving blessings from Mata Tripura Sundari in Udaipur, Gomati district, Sarma told reporters that he was confident the NDA will win the next Assam Assembly elections.”Given the BJP’s flawless work, I am confident that the party will return to power with a thumping majority. The Assembly election dates will be announced in February this year,”Sarma stated.He pointed out that if elections were held now, the BJP would undoubtedly win. But he said that since politics is unpredictable, it could be premature to make any predictions regarding election outcomes. However, he claimed that the BJP is currently in a very powerful position in Assam.

He added that the BJP had kept all of its promises from the last manifesto and that the two subjects on which the Assamese elections will be fought were development and identity.Sarma also voiced his dissatisfaction with the West Bengal government’s lack of vigorous action against Bangladeshi infiltration in the state.He declared, “The West Bengal government is not supporting the national cause of acting against illegal infiltration from Bangladesh.”The chief minister stated, “Assam and Tripura are acting quickly to apprehend the Bangladeshi infiltrators, but the West Bengal government is not doing the same.”
