Heavy amount of drugs rescued in Tripura, a man arrested

Tripura police arrest a person for smuggling 16,000 yaba tablets and six kilograms of marijuana in Fultoli Naya Para district of the state. According to officials, on Tuesday morning, based on a tip, police in Amtali raided Debjit Bhoumik’s home in Fultoli Naya Para. During the operation, investigators seized 16,000 yaba tablets and 6 kg of marijuana while arresting Bhoumik. Police Superintendent Kiran Kumar, Amtali SDPO, and Officer-in-Charge Sitikanta Bardhan informed breif of the case to the media. Dr. Kumar claimed that the entire market value of the seized medications was roughly 4.2 million taka.

SP Kiran Kumar stated that the police are still investigating the matter to demolish the local narcotics network. Meanwhile, five illegal immigrants were seized at Agartala Railway Station on Monday as part of a combined operation based on “confidential information.” The GRP, RPF, BSF, and intelligence services collaborated to carry out the operation. Two Bangladeshi and three Myanmar citizens were apprehended after illegally entering India from Bangladesh. They were attempting to board a train heading to neighboring Indian states.
