GST Revenue in Arunachal Pradesh Shows Upward Trend

In comparison to the same period in the previous fiscal year, Arunachal Pradesh’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) receipts increased by a staggering 35.7% in the first nine months of the 2025–2026 fiscal year, officials reported on Monday.According to them, the collection surpassed the 6.8% national growth average, indicating robust economic activity and enhanced tax compliance in the state.Between April and December of 2025, the state collected Rs 1,519 crore in GST, compared to Rs 1,324 crore during the same time in 2024. This is an absolute increase of Rs 195 crore. The central GST Commissionerate in Itanagar claims that the notable increase is the outcome of consistent economic growth, improved taxpayer compliance, and successful revenue-boosting initiatives.

The increased collections, according to officials, are a sign of expanded markets, increased economic activity, and better tax administration in key industries including retail, services, tourism, transportation, and hospitality. They credited the expansion to legislative initiatives that have expanded the tax base and boosted investor confidence, such as enhanced digitalisation, governance changes, and ease of doing business.According to officials, the increase in revenue has improved the state’s financial standing and made it possible to spend more on social welfare, infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
