New Delhi, May 29: According to the All India Sarafa Association, the price of gold in the national capital rose by Rs 500 to Rs 99,000 per 10 grams on Wednesday amid a strong trend in overseas markets.
The precious metal of 99.5 percent purity rose by Rs 500 to Rs 98,500 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes).
Also, the price of silver rose by Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,00,000 per kg (inclusive of all taxes) on Wednesday. The metal had declined by Rs 1,370 to Rs 99,000 per kg in the previous market session.
Globally, spot gold rose by $23.16 an ounce, or 0.7 percent, to $3,323.87 an ounce.
“Gold prices traded higher as markets await the minutes of the FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) meeting and speeches by US Federal Reserve officials for further policy cues,” said Kaynat Chainwala, AVP Commodity Research, Kotak Securities.
