According to Mark Suzman, CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, India is a particularly credible voice for bringing attention to issues affecting the Global South, and its G20 presidency would be crucial to advancing the goal of developing public health and digital infrastructure in developing nations.
Suzman added that India can play a significant role in maintaining global attention on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the demands of the planet’s billions of people for development in the absence of western countries engaged in geopolitical conflicts like the situation in Ukraine.
