A 63-year-old man, who was sleeping in his house, was hacked to death by a group of assailants in Kullukkallur in this north Kerala district.
This incident happened on Tuesday morning. Deceased Abbas is a marriage broker by profession in Bhandumthara.
According to the police, the killers came in an autorickshaw, knocked on the door, took him out of the house and hacked him to death with sharp weapons.
Some suspects were taken into custody but no arrests have been made so far, police added.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment.
