Samsung has ushered in a new era of mobile artificial intelligence with the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, the company’s first AI-powered smartphones. At the forefront of this innovation is the hybrid AI approach, blending on-device and cloud-based AI to offer seamless, personalized experiences while maintaining robust privacy protections.
“Mobile devices are essential in our daily lives, and AI unlocks unprecedented possibilities,” said Won-Joon Choi, EVP & Head of Mobile R&D Office at Samsung Electronics. “Our hybrid approach ensures instant responsiveness and extra privacy, combining the best of on-device AI with the versatility of cloud-based solutions.”A standout feature of the Galaxy S24 is the on-device Live Translate, enabling private, real-time voice translations. Samsung’s global R&D teams, including those in Poland, China, India, and Vietnam, played a crucial role in developing this feature, emphasizing the importance of localized language support.
Looking ahead, Samsung plans to extend Galaxy AI capabilities to other devices and applications, including its innovative foldable smartphones. “The introduction of Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S24 series is just the beginning,” Choi added. “We are committed to optimizing AI experiences across our entire Galaxy ecosystem, driving mobile AI innovation for the future.”
