Flipkart has launched ‘SPOYL’, a new app-in-app fashion destination

Flipkart, the fashion destination for millions of shoppers across India has launched ‘SPOYL’, a new app-in-app fashion destination specifically curated for Gen Z (those born between 1997 and 2012) shoppers. SPOYL offers over 40,000 products, including western wear, accessories, and footwear, targeting the target audience’s aesthetic. The on-app interface revolutionizes personal style expression, offering a diverse collection of designs that embrace individuality and style.

India has the third-largest online shopper base globally, with Gen Z being one in three. They mostly purchase fashion at entry price points, preferring expressive clothing and a constantly changing style. Speaking about the launch, Sandeep Karwa, Vice President – Flipkart Fashion, said, “By encouraging our seller ecosystem to use on-spot trend inputs and incorporating advanced planning, we strive to make available the most stylish garments, made possible by technology and data insights.”

Flipkart Fashion’s customer base comprises 25% Gen Z, with untapped potential in this segment. This internet-first generation is influenced by global fashion phenomena, OTT content, popstars, and pop culture events. They are value-conscious and technology-driven, shaping their shopping experience. Flipkart has launched ‘SPOYL’, an on-app differentiated experience curated for Gen Z, ensuring customer-first approach.
