“Fatsung” is nominated for awards ‘Bank of Baroda Rashtrabhasha Samman’ Awards

Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, announced the list of 12 nominations for the first edition of the “Bank of Baroda Rashtrabhasha Samman” Awards 2023. The Nepali Novel ‘Fatsung’ is among the 12 novels nominated for the award.

At the event organised in Darjeeling, the original author Mr. Chuden Kabimo and the translator Ms. Namrata Chaturvedi participated in a panel discussion on the Indian literature landscape and the significance of the Rashtrabhasha Samman award for the literary fraternity across India.

The Bank of Baroda Rashtrabhasha Samman Award will be presented to the author and translator of the award-winning book, with the authors and translators of the next five shortlisted books receiving Rs. 3.00 lakh and Rs. 2.00 lakh respectively. The five-member awards jury is chaired by renowned author and Booker Prize winner Ms.Geetanjali Shree. Mr.Sonam Tshering Bhutia, Zonal Head& General Manager, Bank of Baroda said “The ‘Bank of Baroda Rashtrabhasha Samman’ award is a national platform for talented Indian writers from different parts of the country and this initiative will further boost the Indian language literature as well as encourage literary translations.”
