Lok Insaf Party chief and former MLA Simarjit Singh Bains has surrendered before the court in the rape case.
Bain, 52, surrendered in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Horsimranjit Singh.
From reports, the two-time MLA is the main accused in the rape case of an old woman of 44 years.
On July 16, 2021, the case was registered against Bains with five others, including his 2 brothers, on the orders of a local court.
The survivor alleged in her complaint that the former MLA raped her multiple times as she sought his help in a property dispute case.
