Embryonic Development Delayed in Pregnancies Ending in Miscarriage

Embryos that take longer to develop in the womb in pregnancies that end in miscarriage than embryos in pregnancies that give birth to live children.
The researchers used imaging technologies to examine embryo development in 611 continuing pregnancies, 33 of which resulted in miscarriage, under the direction of Erasmus MC, University Medical Center, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The use of virtual reality technology enabled the creation of 3D holograms of embryos.
The research was written up in the journal Human Reproduction.
