Durex TBBT empowers youth of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram

Durex The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) collaborated with district administrations in Durtlang, Mizoram and Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh to celebrate their respective 38th Statehood Day and raise awareness among adolescents. The celebration aimed to reinforce The Birds and Bees Talk’s pillars of Awareness, Consent, Protection, Knowledge, Equity, and Inclusion through various engagement activities.

The celebration of The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) in Namsai and Mizoram was attended by various officials, including Deputy Commissioner C R Khampa, Child Development Project Officer W. Kimhum, Clinical Psychologist Zoremsanga, and Laldawngliana, Father of Aizawl Special Home. TBBT State Leads Ashim Nicholas Kawah (Namsai) and Letkhogin Mate (Mizoram) graced the celebrationin their respective states.  The Birds and Bees Talk collaborated with various departments to educate children and adolescents on growing-up life skills. Shri. C.R. Khampa, District Commissioner, Namsai said “I appreciate The Birds and Bees Talk and the department of Women and Child Development for the programme.”

The program was well-received by authorities, who appreciated TBBT’s efforts in making children responsible and healthier adults. Arunachal University students performed a skit on issues like child marriage, abuse, peer pressure, and menstrual health, addressing issues faced by adolescents in their growing up stage.  Children from Aizawl Special Home performed singing and dancing competitions showcasing Mizoram’s history and culture. A counseling session by Clinical Psychologist Zoremsanga focused on youth’s role in nation building and its importance in Mizo society. A friendly football match was also held for Mizoram youth.
