Agriculture Minister Gabriel D. Wangsu officially released the Crop Calendar for the Upper Siang district at a ceremony held at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar on Wednesday. The event marked a significant step in enhancing agricultural planning and productivity in the region.
The calendar was unveiled in the presence of key dignitaries, including Talem Taboh, MLA of Rumgong and Advisor to the Agriculture Minister, Vivek Pandey, IAS, Agriculture Production Commissioner of Arunachal Pradesh, and Dr. G. Kadirvel, Director of ATARI, Zone VI, Guwahati. The release took place during a crucial meeting convened by the Agriculture Minister to address various issues concerning Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across Arunachal Pradesh. The event saw participation from all relevant stakeholders.
Dr. Oyinti Megu, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Upper Siang, emphasized that the Crop Calendar is designed to aid farmers in making informed decisions regarding crop planning and management. “The calendar will enable optimized crop selection, improved productivity, and ultimately, increased farm income,” Dr. Megu stated.
