Director Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dobaaraa’ only Indian film to be screened at Fantasia Film Festival

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, and starring Taapsee Pannu, ‘Dobara’ has been making headlines for every bit of it. The film is all set to screen at Fantasia Film Festival among the major attractions. The new age thriller drama is the only Indian film to be screened at the world’s largest genre film festival among various Korean, Spanish and Japanese films that will be screened at the world’s largest genre film festival.

The Fantasia International Film Festival will be celebrating its twenty-sixth Anniversary in Montreal this summer, taking location from July 14 – August 3, with its Frontières International Co-Production Market being held July 21 – 24.

Earlier, ‘Dobara’ was screened for the first time at the London Film Festival 2022 and the film along with its concept was duly liked by the global audience. The screening was attended by the megastar team- Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee Pannu, and Pavel Gulati among others.

Taapsee Pannu and Pavel Gulati played the lead roles in this film based on the Spanish movie ‘Miraj’. It is scheduled for a global launch on August 19, 2022.

In February 2021, both Taapsee and Anurag took to social media to share an announcement video for the movie. Sharing the video, he wrote, “Time. place the world. 2021 will ask you everything. Filming starts soon! @AnuragKashyap while adding some light and color back to your body, let’s do it #DOBAARAA.”

Anurag wrote, “See what happens when you tour time across the dimensions of the universe. Filming starts soon! #Dobaaraa.”

‘Dobara’ is helmed by acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap and produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta R Kapoor (Cult Movies, a new wing under Balaji Telefilms) and Sunir Kshetrapal and Gaurav Bose (Athena).

This is the 2D time Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap team up after ‘Monmarjian’.
