Dia Mirza took to social media to react to the news of Uddhav Thackeray’s resignation as Maharashtra Chief Minister late on Wednesday. Dia thanked to Uddav Thackeray for ‘caring for people and the planet. However, Kashmir File director Vivek Agnihotri was quick to respond to Diya’s tweet. In reply, Vivek asked Dia if she would have mentioned ‘Planet Bollywood’.
Uddhav Thackeray, 62, resigned on Wednesday night, minutes after the Supreme Court refused to abide by Governor Koshyari’s order for his authority to look into the Assembly on Thursday. After her resignation, many people including Bollywood stars expressed support for her and Dia was one of them. By thanking the CM of Maharashtra Dia tweeted, “Thank you @OfficeofUT. You cared for human beings and the planet. Conveying my gratitude and respect here. May you have many extra opportunities to serve the nation. @AUThackeray (sic).”
Following Dia’s tweet, Vivek Agnihotri, director of Kashmir Files, wrote in the comments section, “Which planet? Planet Bollywood (sic)?”
Actors Prakash Raj and Urmila Matondkar were among people who praised Uddhav Thackeray after he resigned as Maharashtra chief minister late on Wednesday, declaring that people would stand by him for the way he had treated the state. After Thackeray stepped down from the Chief Minister’s chair, the Maha Vikas Aghadi government collapsed. Eknath Sambhaji Shinde was then nominated as the Chief Minister of the state.
