Dera Natung College in Itanagar celebrates National Science Day 2025

‘Science for Sustainable Development: Promoting Green Technologies’ was the theme of the National Science Day-2025 celebration by the Science Club of Dera Natung Government College in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. Participating in the event were all of the faculty members and students from the Departments of Science club, which includes the Departments of Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Zoology.

Dr. Karsing Megu, an assistant professor in the zoology department, organized the event. Dr. M.Q. Khan, the principal of Dera Natung Government College in Itanagar, spoke as the event’s main guest and covered the many ways that science has influenced everything from daily life to space and nuclear technologies. To improve the application of science in society, he urged the scientific community to research and develop new ideas. Dr. Ajum Bagang, an assistant professor in the botany department, gave a scientific discussion about the value of home gardens in biodiversity protection as part of the commemoration of National Science Day 2025.

The evolution of the theory of scientific cognition was presented by Dr. Hage Doley, an assistant professor in the physics department. An essay writing competition on the theme of “Science for Sustainable Development: Promoting Green Technologies,” a general science quiz, and a poster-making competition on the effects of dams on Arunachal Pradesh were held in order to increase the event’s engagement and awareness of the importance of Science Day. Certificates and trophies were given to the winners.
