Dell Technologies’ India digital inclusion program outreach augments after equipping 2 million citizens with digital skills

Dell Technologies has successfully reached its target of positively impacting 2 million beneficiaries through its Mobile Solar Community Hubs in India, which are equipped with technology-enabled devices, solar panels, 4G internet hotspot facilities, and self-paced learning content for online services. Dell’s mobile hubs aim to provide internet and computer technology to local communities, with a global goal of impacting one billion lives by 2030. They will achieve this through deep-rooted partnerships, digital inclusion resources, and programs.

Dell and Learning Links Foundation have successfully deployed solar-powered hubs in six aspirational districts, supporting students, youth, and women with digital and financial literacy training, technical skills, entrepreneurship, career guidance, and revenue-generating services.

Dell is now expanding the reach of the Mobile Solar Community Hubs to five additional districts: Puri Garhwal (Uttarakhand), Ramgarh (Jharkhand), Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh), Patankot (Punjab), and Gurugram (Haryana). AlokOhrie, president and managing director, Dell Technologies India said, “Partnering with the government over the years in various activities has helped drive transformational change and address the digital divide.”The program aims to digitally empower 200 retired defence personnel and their wards, impacting 1.2 million people in 2023-24, and address skill gaps in post-retirement prospects.
