Deepotsav 2024: Ayodhya sets two new Guinness World Records

During the seventh Deepotsav on Wednesday, the historic town of Ayodhya, which has great cultural and religious value, achieved two Guinness World Records, marking a new milestone. The city’s astounding 2,512,585 diyas lit up the banks of the Saryu River, breaking the record for the greatest oil lamp show. When 1,121 persons took part in a grand aarti and performed “diya” rotations simultaneously, setting the second world record, it demonstrated how unified everyone was in their dedication.

The Deepotsav celebrations were held on 55 ghats, including the Saryu River and Ram ki Paidi. To count the diyas that broke the world record, drones were used. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak graced the occasion, and they all took in the breathtaking fireworks display that lit up the night sky. Every government and religious institution in the city was illuminated with brilliant lights, and temples, small alleys, and big roadways were all decked up.
