On Wednesday, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated Orunodoi 2.0 scheme for Assam women.
Under this scheme women in the state can get around Rs 1000 per month. With this, the Assam chief minister hopes to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) a reality; making it one of the largest projects in the country
As per the report, 10.54 lakh new beneficiaries were newly added. And, with the new inclusion, there will be around 27 lakh of beneficiaries in the state. The total financial outlay for Orunodoi is Rs 4,142 crore per year.
Also under the scheme, per income of the household should be 2 lakh and other than that dwarf or ailing from Cerebral palsy among others will be eligible under this scheme.
“Our government has been extending economic and nutritional security to lakhs of financially vulnerable families across the state and amongst them, the foremost has been Orunodoi scheme described as the foremost bead among the Ashtadash Mukutar Unnoyonee Maala in the Assam Budget 2020-2021,” Sarma said.
