India reported 2,710 new coronavirus infections in a day, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,31,47,530, while active cases reached 15,814, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
The death toll rose to 5,24,539 with 14 new fatalities.
Active cases comprise 0.04 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.75 percent, the ministry said.
An increase of 400 cases was recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
The number of people who recovered from the disease rose to 4,26,07,177, while the death rate was recorded at 1.22 percent.
