The ruling Congress on Friday won three of Rajasthan’s four Rajya Sabha seats, overcoming challenges from BJP-backed independent candidate Subhash Chandra. BJP got one seat.
Congress candidates Randeep Surjewala, Mukul Wasnik and Pramod Tiwari and BJP’s Ghanshyam Tiwari were declared elected by the Election Commission late on Friday night.
This will take the number of Congress Rajya Sabha MPs from Rajasthan to six out of a total of 10. BJP will have four members.
Out of 200 votes, 199 were valid and one was void.
