Congress stages walkout from ongoing Assam Assembly

On Wednesday, during the ongoing Assam Assembly the opposition Congress party staged walkout from the Assembly over implementation of Assam Accord.

According to the sources, Congress leader Sibamoni Bora raised question about the implementation of Assam Accord during the question hour but the answer didn’t satisfy the opposition party due to which the Congress party staged walkout from the session.

The Assam Accord was signed on August 15, 1985, at the end of a six-year-long agitation against infiltration.

Assam Accord Implementation minister Atul Bora replied by stating that the martyrs of the agitation lost their lives during the government, the objective of the Accord has not been fulfilled yet.
