CM Sarma unveils ‘Operation Sindoor’ exhibition, leads Tiranga Yatra in Guwahati

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday inaugurated a special exhibition titled ‘Operation Sindoor’ at the State BJP headquarters in Guwahati, commemorating the valiant response of India’s armed forces following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The exhibition, organised as a tribute to the nation’s defence forces, showcases a detailed account of the military’s swift and decisive retaliation against terror infrastructure allegedly operating from across the border. The display includes visuals, missile system models, strategic maps, and narratives highlighting the precision and strength of India’s armed response. Addressing the gathering, CM Sarma lauded the armed forces for their swift and powerful response. “After the Pahalgam terror attack, our brave soldiers, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, delivered a befitting reply. Our advanced missile systems, defence preparedness, and unmatched courage have dismantled Pakistan’s terror bases,” Sarma declared.

He urged the public, especially the youth, to visit the exhibition and witness first-hand the modern capabilities of India’s military. “This exhibition is not just a tribute; it is a reminder of our nation’s resilience and strength,” he added. The event also marked the launch of a Tiranga Yatra in Guwahati, with the Chief Minister and BJP state president Dilip Saikia leading a massive rally from Adabari to Jalukbari. Hundreds of party workers and supporters participated in the march, waving the national flag and chanting patriotic slogans. Former Eastern Army Commander Lt Gen (Retd) Rana Pratap Kalita also joined the Yatra, expressing his pride in the Indian Army’s operational success and the spirit of nationalism seen among the citizens.

The Tiranga Yatra, being held across the state, is aimed at fostering a sense of national pride and unity in the wake of Operation Sindoor. The campaign also serves to encourage greater public engagement with national security efforts and to honour the sacrifices of the armed forces.
