CID actor Dinesh Phadnis aka Freddy passes away at 57 due to multiple organ failure, confirms co-star Dayanand Shetty

Actor Dinesh Phadnis, who was popularly known for playing the role of Freddie in the crime investigation show CID, breathed his last on Tuesday (December 5), the news of his demise was confirmed by co-star Dayanand Shetty.

Daya added, “Firstly, it wasn`t a heart attack; it was liver damage, because of which he was immediately rushed to Tunga Hospital, Malad. For the last two days, he has been very critical.”

Speaking about the reason for his liver damage, Daya revealed, “Dinesh was getting treated for some other ailment, but the medication affected his liver adversely. That`s why it is always recommended to take medicines very carefully. You never know when the medicine that one is taking to treat something can cause another major ailment. One should be very careful regarding allopathic medicines.”

Apart from his acting in television shows, he has worked in movies such as Sarfarosh, Mela, and Officer. In Sarfarosh and Officer, he did the role of a police inspector. Recently, he was also seen in the Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30, where he had a very small role to play.
