Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has announced a Rs 564 crore special relief package for flood-hit regions across the state. The package aims to aid in immediate relief and recovery following the extensive damage caused by recent floods, which affected roads, bridges, agriculture, and infrastructure. During the Tripura Legislative Assembly session, CM Saha said, “The flood has caused damages estimated at Rs 14,247 crore, impacting national highways, power lines, farmlands, and homes.”
He added that district officials have assessed the damage, and the state will submit a request for additional relief funds to the Union Home Ministry. The relief package allocates Rs 200 crore to the Public Works Department for roads and buildings, Rs 100 crore to the power department, and Rs 70 crore for food and civil supplies.
Other sectors, including education, agriculture, fisheries, and health, have also received funding for recovery efforts. “The package will help rebuild infrastructure and support flood-affected communities,” Saha stated, emphasizing the state’s commitment to recovery and continued development.
